Office of the County Clerk – Elections Division
The Elections Division of the Office of the County Clerk is responsible for the elections in the County of Maui and the County of Kalawao. It assists the State Office of Elections in meeting all Federal, State, and County election requirements and in the implementation of programs to increase voter registration and participation.

LĀNAʻI VOTER SERVICE CENTER RE-LOCATES TO THE LĀNAʻI COUNCIL DISTRICT OFFICE AS OF OCTOBER 26, 2020
In light of the COVID-19 situation on the island of Lānaʻi, the Voter Service Center and Place of Deposit located at the Lānaʻi Police Station Conference Room has been relocated to the nearby Lānaʻi Council District Office, at the Lānaʻi Community Center, on 8th Street, Lānaʻi City, effective October 26, 2020.
Hours and Days of operation include:
- 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2020;
- 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020 thru Monday, November 2, 2020 excluding Sunday;
- 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 (election day).
In addition to services at the Voter Service Center such as same day voter registration and voting, and a Place of Deposit for ballot drop offs, voters on Lānaʻi are encouraged to send in their ballots by mail via the United States Postal Service thru 3:00 p.m. Election Day on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Charter Amendment Questions:
By a correspondence dated August 20, 2020, the Office of the County Clerk submitted the amendment questions to the State Office Elections to be placed on the General Election ballot.

Charter Amendments
Section 14-1 of the Revised Charter of the County of Maui (1983), as amended (“Charter”), authorizes the Council to initiate amendments to the Charter by resolution adopted after two reading on separate days and passed by a vote of six or more members of the Council.
The Council passed seven resolutions proposing Charter amendments. A question pertaining to each proposed amendment will be on the 2020 County of Maui General Election ballot. The resolutions are as follows:
Voter Registration
The last day to register to vote for the 2020 General Election was October 5, 2020. Voters who are registered by the registration deadline will have a ballot sent to their registered mailing address.
Individuals who did not register by the deadline may still vote by participating in same-day registration at a Voter Service Center. Individuals must vote at the Voter Service Center if they participate in same-day registration.
If you will be away from your registered mailing address and require your ballot to be delivered to an alternate address for a specific election or an election cycle, you may submit a one-time absentee application.
