Council seeks volunteers for Board of Water Supply, Public Works Commission, other roles; applications due Monday morning
WAILUKU, Hawaiʻi (Aug. 13, 2026)—The Maui County Council is looking for people interested in serving on the Board of Water Supply, Public Works Commission and other boards and commissions as it seeks to fill several urgent vacancies, Chair Alice L. Lee announced today.
Boards and commissions advise the council, mayor and government agencies on a variety of topics and in some cases make binding decisions on the county’s behalf, Lee said. Some focus on specific regions, while others address countywide issues, she added.
“We are seeking volunteers willing to contribute their time and knowledge in shaping policy and planning Maui County’s future,” said Lee, who holds the seat for the Wailuku-Waiheʻe-Waikapū residency area. “This form of service and participation is an opportunity for residents to have a direct voice in their local government.”
Under the Maui County Code, the council is authorized to fill the following vacancies by adopting resolutions at its Aug. 25 meeting:
