Budget and Finance Committee
Final committee action on county budget set for 10 a.m. Monday; no meeting on Sunday
WAILUKU, Hawaii – The Budget and Finance Committee will make its final recommendation on Maui County’s fiscal year 2017 budget on Monday, May 2 at 10 a.m. in the Council Chamber, Committee Chair Riki Hokama announced today.
Hokama said the committee will not meet tomorrow afternoon, as previously announced. The committee has been deliberating on the budget almost every day since receiving the mayor’s proposal in March.
A committee-recommended version of the budget will advance to full council for first reading on May 20. Second and final reading is expected on June 3. Fiscal year 2017 begins July 1.
