PĀʻIA, Hawaiʻi (June 17, 2024)—Councilmember Nohelani Uʻu-Hodgins announced today she will host a community town hall June 25 at 6 p.m. at Pāʻia Community Center.

Uʻu-Hodgins said the meeting is to discuss fire-evacuation plans and fire-prevention education for Pāʻia. She said presentations are expected from the Maui Emergency Management Agency, the police department, the fire department and the Office of the Mayor.

“I am grateful for the collaborative effort to take preventative action and plan an efficient disaster response in locations throughout the county,” said Uʻu-Hodgins, who holds the seat for the Makawao-Haʻikū-Pāʻia residency area. “The safety and well-being of our communities are the highest priorities, and we will continue to build resilience and vigilance in all residency areas.”

Uʻu-Hodgins said residents are encouraged to participate and share their questions and concerns. RSVPs are being accepted at www.paiatownhall2024.splashthat.com.
