Baisa: How do we move faster with issuing Upcountry water meters?

WAILUKU, Hawaii – On Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. in the Council Chamber, the Water Resources Committee will receive a presentation from the Department of Water Supply and discuss the processing of applications from the Upcountry Water Meter Priority List, Committee Chair Gladys C. Baisa announced today.

Last year, council provided exemptions to some costly infrastructure requirements to help Upcountry residents waiting for water meters,” Baisa said. “The committee will explore ways to speed up the process for those still on the list.

“Until water service is offered to every applicant, I’m committed to working with the public and the department to reduce obstacles in the way.”

The meeting will be televised live on Akaku TV Channel 53 and will be available on livestream at MauiCounty.us/agendas. Testimony may be emailed to wr.committee@mauicounty.us.
